5 LA Coffee Shops To Try

Living in LA for almost 3 years now, I’m beginning to actually know my way around and develop favorite places to go. For this post, I’ve composed a list of 5 LA coffee shops, which I won’t say are the best because I’m sure there are other great places I haven’t tried yet. However, they are amazing and must stop if you haven’t! Bonus—they are all 100% instagrammable if that’s something you are interested in as well 😉

  1. The Assembly

Located at 634 N Robertson Blvd, The Assembly is in walking proximity from popular restaurants such as Sur, The Abbey, and Craigs. The inside has a very minimal, but aesthetically pleasing appearance consisting of a combination of light wood, white floors, and marble counter. Coffee and espresso is also of excellent quality—they even offer different pastries depending on the day of the week. My recommended drink is the iced almond mocha with a chocolate twist!

2. Verve Coffee Roasters

Verve has certainly expanded since I first moved to LA—originally from Santa Cruz, they expanded with a new shop DTLA, and are now also on Melrose (West Hollywood) and 3rd street (Mid-City). My favorite of Verves locations continues to be their cafe Downtown, due to the open windows, hanging plants, and cool urban vibe. I personally haven’t tried it, but a lot of people go there specifically for their juice cleanse/shots. I myself am not into the juicing trend, so I typically get an iced vanilla latte!

3. Alfred Coffee

If you’re from LA reading this, you are probably rolling your eyes, because everyone knows Alfreds! I hate to speak on behalf of Los Angeles, but I would definitely call this a local favorite. There are currently six different locations in the Los Angeles area including West Hollywood, Silverlake, Brentwood, Studio City, and more planned to come! If you’ve ever heard the phrase ‘But First, Coffee’—that was Alfreds. My go to drink is a large iced caramel latte! **You are also very likely to see celebrities at Alfreds, like I said it’s a local favorite.

4. Dinosaur Coffee

It’s very strange how I discovered Dinosaur coffee…some of you may know that I have a small obsession with these strange creatures. Well, when I first moved to Los Angeles I wanted to see if there were any dinosaur themed restaurants, and thus this amazing discovery was made! Literally! Located in East Hollywood on Sunset Blvd, the interior has small dinosaurs everywhere. It’s very strange and random, but if you’re like me, you’ll appreciate it. This is a must see to believe coffee shop. 🙂

5. Go Get Em Tiger

You’ll find this coffee shop on the best foody street in LA, Larchmont! Come here when you are in the mood for a deliciously sweet iced latte. The area is very chill and artistic so it’s great if you like to walk around and browse shops while sipping your morning/afternoon brew. Bonus, there is a giant astronaut drawing on the wall which is reason enough to check this place out!
