Hey everyone, it’s a been a while since I last updated, but I do have an excuse…I went home! It was a spontaneous trip that I decided the day before leaving to do, and because whenever I go home I consider it ‘vacation time’ I decided to not do any posts until I was back in LA. However, now that I’m back I’ll give you all the low down of what I did (or at least the exciting things).
The first two days being home, I spent a lot of time shopping at stores like Target, Ross, and Marshalls for bedroom decor. I’m slowly starting the process of redoing my bedroom in the bay area to fit my 20 year old self better (right now it still looks too much like 16 year old me if that makes sense). For example—I finally took down all One Direction posters from my walls and am donating a lot of things I’ve had for far too long like elephant piggy banks, butterfly decor, rainbow crayon art, etc. I also DIY marbled my white desk which was covered in marker spots, scratches, and in overall not good shape. Check out the before and after photos below:
I also bought two new pillows for my bed which I completely forgot to photograph, but they are both from Target. One of them is a white faux mongolian fur pillow which was on sale for $15 and the other is a white pillow with gold ‘thumbprint’ accents which was on sale for $12!
While home, my brother, sister, and I checked out a bakery we’ve been wanting to try called B. Patisserie. I definitely would recommend this place, as it reminded me a lot of the pastries in Paris, but of course maintained the San Francisco vibe. Lucky for me, the pastry I wanted had just come out of the oven and was oozing warm chocolate which of course I died over (and made a complete mess of as well).
After visiting the bakery, we headed over to the Chandran gallery I had discovered on Instagram. Pictures really don’t do this exhibit justice on how beautiful it was—if you do decide to go though I recommend going as soon as possible before the flowers completely die out.
Because the gallery was so close to the shopping area, I of course had to stop by Barneys and check out the Justin Bieber Purpose Tour collection that had just recently launched. I wasn’t necessarily planning on buying anything, but of course after trying on a shirt I couldn’t resist and ended up going home with it!
On my last day home, my mom took me to a Grateful Dead themed restaurant (founded by one of the members) in San Rafael called Terrapin Crossroads which I though was awesome. It was right on the water, had an awesome vibe, and the music was great so I definitely recommend checking it out with some friends. They also have a stage for live music which would be an awesome venue to attend a show at.
That’s a pretty basic summary of my time at home—now I’m back to the LA life so more fashion related posts will surely be up soon!
